For years, recycled materials have been a source of inspiration for my creations, and at one point, an old bicycle wheel was sitting on my workbench.
I spent a long time looking at it—not as a component, but as a form: the spokes radiating like the sun toward the center, the perfectly round rim. I knew instantly: this was no longer going to be a bicycle part. It was going to be a lamp.
The name chose itself. The Col du Galibier is one of the toughest mountain passes in the Tour de France, a climb that frequently features on the race route.

I do not mass-produce the Galibier; it is a limited edition of just six signed pieces.
I craft each unit from a recycled bicycle wheel, which I finish in a striking sulphur yellow (RAL 1016) and fit with a neutral LED strip (4000K).
Ø 65 cm, height 8 cm—large enough to command attention, yet graceful enough to delight the eye.
It is suspended by adjustable steel cables with safety hooks, allowing you to set it to the perfect height yourself.

I consciously work with recycled materials. That old bicycle wheel—which would otherwise have ended up at the recycling centre—is thus given a second life as an art object. No greenwashing; just careful thought about what I create and why.
In a country where the bicycle is more than just a means of transport—where it represents culture, identity, and a way of life—such a piece deserves a stage, in my view.
